Our Design Process

Regardless of your project, our utility focused design process is the same. If you are dreaming of a beautiful shaker style kitchen with a matching utility and boot room. Or you want a luxurious and grand walk-wardrobe with a matching island unit, or you need a retail interior that truly represents your brand. Our in-house design team can help to design a space that works for you and your needs.

Our experienced team strive to make this somewhat daunting task into something enjoyable and stress-free, ensuring you receive the space you've always dreamt of. The design process is critical to us, and we pride ourselves on taking the time to understand your needs and lifestyle when we plan every aspect of your space.

How we work...

Step 1

First things first, you can book a free design consultation with our team. This will involve an initial chat to get a better idea of your project. Most people have a general idea of what they want, and our design team then step in to explore these concepts and ensure they complement your day-to-day living. We'll provide you with a questionnaire to get to know you, your lifestyle, and your design preferences. Once we have an idea of who you are as an individual, couple or family, we then get to work on creating an innovative design concept.

Step 2

Our team will then start to make your ideas a reality. When we have an initial design, we present it back to you and take on board any comments and amendments or suggestions you may have. The design stage is perhaps the most time-consuming part of our process: our attention to detail is unparalleled because we want the space to be everything you've dreamed of.

Step 3

Once the design concept is perfect, we'll start creating it. We're proud to say every piece of cabinetry is hand-built by our dedicated team in our Lancashire workshop. We sustainably source all of our materials, ensuring each piece is of the highest quality. Your designer will keep you updated on progress throughout this stage, including an installation timescale. Due to the high quality of our craft, our traditional techniques and attention to detail, this part of the process can take around eight weeks.

Step 4

Then it's time for the installation, which is easily the most satisfying part of the process. Seeing weeks of hard work come to fruition, and knowing the design will enhance your day-to-day living and be enjoyed for many years to come.

"Simply stunning! From the design stage through to installation, the care, craft and overall attention to detail was second to none. When you breakdown some of the so called bespoke kitchen brands on the high street, they don't even come close to the build quality of a Thomas James kitchen. Highly recommend."
